Windows 2000 Basics : Starting Programs    From an Associated File  

There are many types of files.  Usually a particular program is associated with a given file type.  In a later tutorial, you will learn more about file types, and will learn how to associate different programs with different file types.  But for now, we'll simply introduce the concept of starting up a program via an associated file.
