Excel 2000 : A Sample Application    Using Formulas  

This opens the Lookup dialog.

We want to have Excel look in column B, get the value (for example, "flanger") then go over to the Product table (on the right) and look up the price of "flanger". So, we have to specify three things:

  1. "Lookup Value": The column to containing the entry which will be looked up.
  2. "Lookup Vector": The first column of the lookup table.
  3. "Result Vector": The second column of the lookup table.
