Users of Excel enter data in cells. The data can be labels, values or formulae.
The currently active cell is denoted by the position of the cell pointer (the heavy border around the cell). It is possible to enter or modify the contents of only the currently active cell.
You can make a cell active by clicking on the cell with the mouse or by using the cursor movement keys (the arrow keys) on the keyboard.
