| Excel 2000 : Excel Basics Entering a Formula |
Not only text and numbers, but also formulas can be entered into a cell. A formula calculates the value in the cell from some other cell or in some other way.
A formula always begin with an equals sign (=). You can enter a formula in any cell in your worksheet.
If you use cell references instead of actual data when entering a formula, Excel will redo the calculations automatically when the cell being referenced is changed.
