AutoSum and AutoCalculate can be used with any type of cell, including cells that contain formulas, and cells that are not joined. (To select cells that are not joined, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking with the mouse). For example, you can use Autosum to quickly calculate a grand total from several subtotals.
